Insurance
There are a number of insurance considerations you need to be aware of when planning your home renovation. Firstly, if your home renovation project costs more than a pre-determined amount (currently, as low as $3,300 in Whitby, and as high as $12,000 in Toronto) and your builder / contractor must have Home Owners Warranty Insurance. Once you have completed your renovation, hopefully you've also increased the value of your home, and perhaps its contents. Don't forget to consider reviewing the value of your current Home and Contents insurance policies, and determine whether you think they're still adequate for you. Don't leave insurance too late – it's no good after the fact! |
